Part 1: Make Your Own Sensory Kit

  • Onekakā Hall 1202 Takaka-Collingwood Highway Onekaka, Tasman, 7182 New Zealand (map)

Would you like to have more tools in your self-regulation toolbox? We are all sensory beings who process the world in different ways. When we know what calms us down or alerts us we can use this knowledge to create additional tools in our toolbox of self-management strategies.

Come and learn more about the unique ways in which you process sensory information, explore and develop strategies for self-regulation and create your own sensory kit.

The sessions are presented in a small group face-to-face setting of up to 6 people and facilitated by Rebecca, an Occupational Therapist. We will do a range of paper-based and practical activities, with time for discussion. You can share as much or as little as you like in the group.

In Session 1 we will explore the different sensory processing systems and patters.

Location:
Onekakā Hall, 1202 Tākaka-Collingwood Highway

Located across the main road from Iron Works Road, parking onsite, entry through the big wooden gate.

What to bring:

Bring a notebook if you would like and any favourite pens. Handouts will be provided. I will provide some snacks and tea, but bring anything specific you might like to munch on. Please bring whatever you need to be comfy e.g. fidgets, blanket, hot water bottle etc.
