Supervision & Mentoring
From 2026 I will be focusing on supporting other health professionals through supervision, mentoring, consultation and training.
I’m excited to be supporting health professionals, with a focus on wellbeing, environmental supports, self-understanding, self-management and meaningful activity.
Occupational therapy supervision available for OTs in New Zealand & Australia.
Mentoring available for allied health professionals worldwide.
Are you a health professional who would like support with…
Creating learning goals around current issues, reflection on past experiences or looking forwards towards the future?
Exploring your values, purpose, meaning, identity and direction in life/work?
Exploring areas of strengths and where you might need support, and working out strategies and accommodations?
Learning and implementing strategies for supporting yourself and managing daily life and work (e.g. caseload management, organisation, burnout, disclosure, peer support, environmental modifications, meaning and purpose etc.)?
Managing a role transition (e.g. new diagnoses, starting or finishing a job or study, moving, etc.) or getting back into doing the things that are important to you?
Understanding and supporting your (and client’s) sensory preferences, executive functioning and emotion regulation?
Understanding the complex intersection of neurodivergence and chronic illness, including the practical self-management side of things, while also making space for the emotional side and possible grief?
Developing more acceptance and self compassion while also seeking change and developing self-advocacy skills?
Talking through a complex clinical situation related to supporting a neurodivergent and/or chronically ill client?
And do you want to work with someone who understands through lived experience the complexity of being a neurodivergent health professional while managing chronic illnesses?
I can help!
Check below for more information about supervision and mentoring, or check out my upcoming trainings.
I can also deliver or develop specific trainings & workshops for your organisation.
Supervision vs. Mentoring
Supervision
Clinical and/or professional supervision is a formal reflective process that supports the supervisee's learning needs and goals around their clinical knowledge and professional competence, while also taking contextual and personal factors into account. In New Zealand and Australia regular supervision is a requirement of the occupational therapy regulatory bodies as part of continuing professional development. The supervisory relationship is built collaboratively and offers a validating space for learning and authentic reflection.
I offer supervision to neurodivergent and/or chronically ill occupational therapists based in New Zealand and Australia who are needing support and want to work in a collaborative way with someone who understands the complexity of managing multiple conditions while working as a health professional. I can also support neurotypical occupational therapists or other health professionals seeking support for improving their understanding of neurodivergence to better support their clients or colleagues.
Mentoring
To me mentoring has many similarities to supervision in that it is about reflection and exploration, although it is often a less formal relationship and more about personal development. Mentoring can be part of a supervision relationship or separate. I can offer mentoring to health professionals or other people wanting support to reflect and explore the intersections of their professional and personal identities and what this means to them. Mentoring is available to people anywhere in the world.
Please let me know about any access or support needs via email or when you book. Frequency and length of sessions can be adjusted based on your needs.
