Telehealth
For virtual/Telehealth appointments I use Zoom with the waiting room feature turned on. To maintain your privacy, sessions are not recorded. Zoom details will be sent to you in your appointment confirmation and reminder emails. For the session, please find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed so that we can both focus during the session, this is also important to maintain the confidentiality of anything we might discuss.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time you will be charged for the appointment. Please send a text and email if you need to cancel. Sometimes I may need to cancel an appointment and will give you as much notice as I can. You will not be charged anything and I will endeavour to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.

Availability and Communication
I will be available for appointments on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Other times by arrangement. I am not available for appointments before 11am NZST/NZDT. I am not able to offer emergency support out of hours.
To support my own pacing and energy management I will not check emails every day and it may take me up to 2 weeks to respond to a query. You can send an email between sessions with links, topics or questions that you would like to discuss. Quick questions between sessions I am happy to answer via email. Please make it clear if you need a response or are just signposting something for the next session. I work flexibly and may send emails outside of standard working hours. I do not expect instant replies, please respond at a time that works for you.
Artificial Intelligence
I do not generally use AI tools within my practice and do not use the AI features of my client management system. Occasionally I may use a platform called Heidi, which listens to and summarises our conversation. If I use Heidi during a session, I will first explain why I want to use it and get your consent. No personal information is ever entered into Heidi and any summaries and transcripts are deleted after the note is copied over into my client management system. Before confirming the note, it is reviewed for accuracy. If you would like to use an AI recording tool during our session, please discuss this with me first.
Documentation
All collected and/or recorded health information is subject to privacy law under the New Zealand Health Information Privacy Code (2020). Documentation practices adhere to privacy and confidentiality (see Privacy Policy for more information). I take written notes during sessions, which are stored in a locked filing cabinet and organised using initials only, with no other identifying information. I also keep a digital record of information you have provided. You may request access to your records in accordance with your rights under the relevant privacy legislation.
Confidentiality
Supervision services - Information discussed during supervision will remain confidential within the supervisory relationship. The only exceptions to this will be where legal, commercial or professional limitations exist, including client safety, safety of the supervisee or supervisor. In any of the above instances the supervisor will inform the supervisee of the intention to break confidentiality, and the plan for consultation with the supervisee’s line manager or relevant professional body.
Occupational Therapy services - Any personal information learned by the occupational therapist during the course of treatment may only be disclosed to other members of the health care team for health care purposes with consent from you. Confidential information will only be shared with your consent, when legally required or where failure to disclose the information could result in significant harm to you or others.

Supervision - clinical and/or professional supervision is a formal reflective process that supports the supervisee's learning needs and goals around their clinical knowledge and professional competence, while also taking contextual and personal factors into account. In New Zealand and Australia regular supervision is a requirement of the occupational therapy regulatory bodies as part of continuing professional development. The supervisory relationship is built collaboratively and offers a validating space for learning and authentic reflection.
I offer supervision to neurodivergent and/or chronically ill occupational therapists based in New Zealand and Australia who are needing support and want to work in a collaborative way with someone who understands the complexity of managing multiple conditions while working as a health professional. I can also support neurotypical occupational therapists or other health professionals seeking support for improving their understanding of neurodivergence to better support their clients or colleagues.
Mentoring - to me mentoring has many similarities to supervision in that it is about reflection and exploration. Mentoring can be part of a supervision relationship or separate. I can offer mentoring to health professionals or other people wanting support to reflect and explore the intersections of their professional/personal identities and what this means to them.
Consultation - consultation is a less formal knowledge sharing process where advice or input is sought on a specific topic. Consultations are available for any discipline or service on matters relating to chronic illness, mental health or other neurodivergence.
Occupational Therapy - exploring what you want and need to do and any barriers for getting there, this could involve changing the environment or task or learning new skills. Occupational therapy is often about doing and change, so expect to be working on things between sessions and being an active participant in your own treatment.
What to expect in an appointment
The majority of appointments are offered virtually. For any in person appointments, I will provide you with details of the space. For any type of appointment, please let me know of any cultural, access, support, or sensory needs or anything else that will help you engage.
Each session will generally start with a quick check in, set an agenda, review any action items, discuss agenda items, set new tasks and wrap up. Expect to be working on things between sessions and being an active participant in this process by taking charge of your own learning, following things up and being prepared for sessions.
Appointments can be regular or on an as needed basis, but no more frequent than 4 weekly. I am unable to offer weekly or fortnightly appointments of any kind.
There are no minimum or maximum number of sessions. You can book with me directly via email or online. Once you book an initial appointment an intake form will be sent to you. For supervision you will also be sent a supervision contract to complete. An appointment reminder will be sent by email the day before your appointment.
